Elvaloy® is a Ketone Ethylene Ester-containing membrane. This molecule offers the same reflectivity, UV-resistance, and durability FiberTite is known for. KEE roofing remains flexible and is able to be welded in low temperatures.
One big benefit of KEE is its flexibility. Traditional plasticizers will migrate out of the roofing membrane causing it to lose its flexibility and become brittle. KEE will not migrate out of the membrane, so your roofing will remain flexible for decades. It’s high molecular weight also makes it very stable in even the harshest conditions.
What is KEE Roofing?
Ketone Ethylene Ester, abbreviated as KEE is a PVC polymer. This high-molecular-weight polymer is widely used in roofing because of its favorable melting properties and elastomeric properties. It’s manufactured by DuPont™ under the name Elvaloy® Ketone Ethylene Ester.
The difference between KEE and PVC is that KEE membranes are over 50% KEE while PVC membranes are over 50% PVC. With the optimal amount of DuPont™ KEE polymer, your roofing life will be extended and maintenance costs reduced.
